I’m Chanel, a BACP registered counsellor. My approach is centred around your needs, your pace and what matters most to you. Life doesn’t always turn out as expected, and sometimes we face things we never anticipated. Counselling can provide a therapeutic outlet, help you gain clarity and find a way forward.
I listen carefully, with understanding and acceptance, share my reflections and observations, and work with you to make sense of things and identify what feels right for you. When helpful, I also offer practical techniques and resources that you can use in everyday life.
I have experience working as a Counsellor with Mind’s DOVE Private Counselling & Psychotherapy Service, Mind’s Community Talking Therapies (previously known as IAPT Compliant Counselling) and Mind’s Bereavement Service. I’ve also worked with Southend Carers and Open Access Counselling Services.
I’m a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and, when helpful, I also use elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psycho-education.
It’s completely normal to wonder if counselling is right for you. I offer a free 30-minute telephone consultation, giving you the chance to share what you’re experiencing, what you’re looking for and whether you feel I’m the right counsellor for you.
If you’d prefer to meet online or face to face, I offer a 50-minute consultation for £65.
